Ron Carapezzi brings 24 years of management experience at GE to United Site Services. In his leadership role at USS he is creating the vision for growth and excellence that guides the company to the future.
After graduating with a BA in Finance from Fairfield University, Ron was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds. Following his experience with professional baseball he joined General Electric and completed the three year GE Financial Management Program. He then progressed through a series of sales, marketing, sales management and general management assignments with increasing responsibility. He was president and CEO of five GE businesses including U.S. Equipment Finance, Commercial & Industrial Finance and most recently, Bank Loans, a business with a portfolio of $23 billion in loan commitments to over 2,000 corporate borrowers.
Ron serves on several boards including Fairfield University, St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, CT and Constitution Capital Partners.

Jim Cashman brings 27 years of branch and route based leadership experience to United Site Services. A graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Jim was also four year starter on the Wildcat Football team. Jim’s entire professional career has been with national service-delivery organizations, including Aramark, ServiceMaster, and most recently Steritech, where Jim held the position of President. Jim is responsible for the day to day leadership of the business, including quality of service, growth, safety, and employee & customer satisfaction.
Jim resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Donna and two college aged children (Jimmy – Boston College & Jessica – Clemson University).

SVP and CIO
Nancy Pawlowski brings over 20 years of experience architecting and implementing business technology strategies. Prior to joining United Site Services, she held technology leadership roles in a range of route based and services companies. Her experience includes leading ERP implementations, upgrading business processes, managing PMO for project pipelines, and managing IT infrastructure for large, complex organizations. She has held leadership roles at National Technical Systems, supporting over 1500 employees in offices worldwide and at NuCO2 LLC (a division of Praxair, Inc.) supporting 160,000 customers and 1,000 employees across 160 locations.
At USS, Nancy and her team will work very closely with various functions to develop and deliver a robust vision for USS’ next generation of information technology and systems.
SVP - Field Operations
Mark Bartholomew comes to United Site Services with over 25 years of Logistics and Route Based Management experience. Mark has managed specialized logistical needs for companies in diverse industries including pharmaceuticals, packaging, food / beverage and waste hauling. Mark also owned his own warehousing and distribution company for seven years supporting Costco, Party City, 7UP and Pepsi.
At USS, Mark is responsible for all aspects of field operations including Routed Services, Special Events, Acquisition Roll Ins and Fleet Management. Mark’s emphasis has been primarily on LEAN business practices and improving quality of life for our drivers and managers while delivering quality returns to our investors.
Mark holds a BS in Logistics Management from Redding University and is APICS Certified. Mark resides in Corona, CA and spends his “free time” with his five children.
SVP - Sales
Rich Vegter brings 26 years of sanitation management, operations, sales and marketing experience to United Site Services. Prior to joining USS Rich served as President for Service Sanitation where he built the Midwest’s premier portable sanitation company. Additionally Rich served as President of Black Tie Sanitation Services and Senior VP of Operations at Micro Target Media, a sanitation advertising agency.
Throughout his career, he also held many posts within the Portable Sanitation Association International (PSAI), including President and Chairman of multiple committees in an effort to advance the industry.
Rich holds a BS in Marketing from Roosevelt University, and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Donna, and two children.
SVP - Human Resources
Randy Bailin comes to United Site Services with over 30 years of Human Resources leadership experience. He has been the head of H.R for several large businesses including Royal Phillips Electronics, Lincoln Financial Group, and ING. Prior to joining USS, Randy was the Director of Global Relationship Management at Russell Investments. During his career, Randy has led the H.R. function during several major mergers and acquisitions, aligning policies, benefits and systems to ensure seamless integration.
At USS, Randy and his team are responsible for developing and implementing H.R. strategies, programs and practices that are closely aligned and in support of our overall business strategy. This includes a strong focus on enterprise-wide career development.
Randy graduated from Queens College, City University of New York with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education.
SVP - General Counsel
Adam Jacobs brings 26 years of legal experience to United Site Services. Prior to joining USS, Adam was a senior partner with the law firmer of Riemer & Braunstein LLP in Boston, Massachusetts where he was the chairperson if the firm’s corporate department. Adam served as outside counsel to USS prior to joining USS.
Adam received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law - Newark, and was a research editor on the Law Review. Adam received his B.S. in Accounting from the Fairleigh Dickinson University.
SVP - Marketing & COMMUNICATIONS
Asit brings 20+ years of marketing and strategy experience to United Site Services. He is an expert in customer experience management and has extensive experience developing end markets globally. He started his career in consumer products working at Nestle, The Kellogg Company, and RJ Reynolds; before going on to entrepreneurial ventures. Most recently he was at United Rentals where he led the strategic marketing team to deliver profitable growth and innovation in many of the same markets as USS. He led their efforts to apply design thinking principles to customer experience and incorporating technology to deliver unparalleled customer value. He joined United Site Services as VP of Marketing in July 2016.
He holds an MBA from University of Delhi and a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He received his undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT. He can be seen on the weekends cheering his two sons at their soccer games in the Phoenix, AZ area, who are both incidentally Patriots fans!
VP - Business Development
Ed Medvic brings over 22 years of management and business development experience within the solid waste and portable sanitation industry to United Site Services.
Prior to joining USS in 2006 as a Regional Vice President, Ed worked for Waste Services Inc, as a District Manager, managing operations in Florida’s west coast market area. Prior to that, as Vice President of Business Development at Caliber Collision Centers he led the company’s geographic expansion in California and Texas. He began his career as a District Manager - Medical Waste for BFI, Inc. where he was responsible for all medical waste disposal activities in Northern California.
Ed holds a B.A. Economics, University of California, Berkeley. He currently resides in Oldsmar Florida.
VP - Information Technology
Mike Marrapese joined United Site Services in March 2007 with over 25 years of experience in Information Technology.
Prior to joining USS, Mike worked for KeyBank from 2005 to 2007 as a VP of Technology leading the System Development group on a successful $5 million project to enhance Customer experience in online student loan applications.
Prior to KeyBank Mike worked for Bank of America (formerly Fleet Bank) from 1981 to 2005 where he worked his way from computer & network operations and desktop development to the senior leadership team of their systems development group. Mike played many roles with many accomplishments including developing and implementing CRM systems responsible for the increased growth to the Commercial and Small Business Lending divisions.
Throughout Mike’s career he has studied Information Technology. He graduated from Community College of RI with an AS in Computer Science and continues his studies in Management Information Systems at Johnson and Wales University of RI. He resides in Scituate, RI, with his wife Christine and two sons.
VP – Customer Care
Steve joined the United Site Services team in January 2013, bringing with him 28 years of experience in the customer care arena. Prior to joining USS, Steve worked at SimplexGrinnell, a division of Tyco International for 25 + years where he advanced from Region Manager to Director of National Accounts Service & Call Center Operations managing a team of over 150 associates and managers. Steve has been instrumental in positively impacting the overall customer care experience at USS, including quality, process and training improvements, using his wealth of experience. He currently manages a team of 115 customer care associates and managers in MA and CA.
Steve calls Rutland, MA home with his wife Dawn and his son Steven and daughter Krysta. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Fitchburg State University.
VP - Acquisition Integration
Amy Wilson joined United Site Services in 2005. She has progressed through several focus areas holding positions as Controller, Division Manager and Regional Vice President of the Northwest prior to her current position. Prior to USS, Ms. Wilson held a Controller position and was an active in the US investment department of Sumitomo Corporation under the venture capital team of Presidio STX. She brings over 15 years of accounting experience and an MBA from St. Mary’s of California.
As the leader of acquisition integration and field support, Amy and her team are committed to the success and support of our associates and departments. Our United culture is strong and focused on providing exceptional returns to our investors, a fulfilling workplace, and a support system that will put our customers first.
Amy’s hobby is self-investment with a commitment to always be learning something new. When not doing this she enjoys quality time with her daughter and family making memories that can be cherished. Amy is an active volunteer in her community and church with a focus on helping children and the elderly.
VP - Safety & Compliance
Jerry Zaabel brings 27 years of Safety and Quality Management experience to USS. In the past Jerry has managed Safety programs for Browning Ferris Industries and Allied Waste Industries at the Regional and Corporate levels as well as the Quality and Continuous improvement program at BFI.
Prior to his career in Safety and quality Management, Jerry served as a Police Officer for a suburban Chicago Police Department where he held the position of Chief Accident Investigator.
At USS Jerry oversees Safety, Loss Reduction and Regulatory Compliance programs. He currently resides on a Horse Ranch in Northern Arizona with his wife Trish. In addition to spending time with Trish and their four children and two grandchildren; Jerry enjoys training horses, horseback riding and working on the ranch.
Jerry is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Traffic Institute and holds an advanced certificate in Professional Accident Reconstruction as well as an Advanced Safety Certification from the National Safety Council.
VP - FLEET & STRATEGIC SOURCING
Kevin J. Podmore earned a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College and his M.B.A. in Global Management from the University of Phoenix. He started his career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Kevin served in various duty locations across the globe to include Germany, France, Kosovo, Ireland, Kuwait, and Iraq.
Following the Army, Kevin spent 10 years at PepsiCo in various leadership positions within the Fleet Group. His core competencies include process optimization, strategic planning, budget management, performance standard development, quality assurance, maintenance plans, and human resources. Kevin holds a Project Management Certificate from Villanova University and is a Certified Transportation Professional (CTP).
